RBI Grade B Syllabus Exam Pattern 2017
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently released a notification for the recruitment of Officers in Grade ‘B’ (General) Direct Recruitment – (DR). The recruitment process requires the candidates to go through a series of exams and compete for 161 posts. The RBI has specified eligibility criteria, age limit, selection procedure and other important information too. RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
- The RBI Grade B Exam Pattern consists of the 3 Phases – Prelims, Mains and Interview.
- You will have to clear each stage to be eligible for another.
- Read below for Complete details about each stage.
- No Negative Marking for both Phases of the exam!
The Pattern of the Phase-I examination is as follows:

NOTE: The Above Exam Pattern is based on the previous year exam pattern. This year we are expecting the same as above.
- The Phase-I Online Test will carry 200 marks.
- All the questions in the test will be objective type.
- Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate, as may be prescribed by the Board. Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Phase-II of the examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-I.
Exam Pattern for RBI Grade B Mains – Phase II:

- You will appear for Phase II of RBI Grade B exam only after you clear the Phase I or the Prelims exams.
- The Phase II or Mains exam will be carried out in either 1 or 2 days.
- *The Optional Subjects for RBI Grade B Exam will be as follows:
- Finance & Management
- Economics
- Statistics
- You will have to select any 1 subject out of the 3, as per post preference and eligibility.
- This exam will also be taken Online.
Exam Pattern for RBI Grade B Interview – Phase III:
- After you clear the Phase II of the RBI Grade B Exam, you will then be called for an Interview.
- The Interview will carry 50 marks.
- The details regarding your Interview, i.e. Date, Time & Location will be provided to you in your Call-letter.
