SSC CGL Latest Exam Pattern for 2020

Staff Selection Commission 


As per the expectations CGL 2019 notification New Exam Pattern is going to be the same as 2018. Staff Selection Commission  takes the  Combined Graduate Level Examination, for recruitment  of various candidates for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations. Subject to administrative / public exigencies, final selection through the Combined Graduate Level Examination to specific categories of posts would be subject to receipt of intimation of confirmed number of vacancies from the concerned Indenting Ministries/ Department/Office/Cadres before declaration of results.

Scheme of the Examination for Combined Graduate Level Examination:

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination:
Tier –I of the Combined Graduate level Examination will be common for all categories of posts.

Now, lets understand about the Tier -III Exam Pattern more briefly:-
This is a offline descriptive exam conducted with the purpose of testing the writing skills of the candidates in either English or Hindi. The candidates are required to write an essay and letter/application/precis. In order to prepare for this section, not only one should read newspaper, magazines but also one should have well versed knowledge of comprehension.

And Now, let’s understand about the Tier – IV new Exam Pattern more briefly:-

In this tier, SSC checks the candidates’ computer basic practical knowledge simply in two ways:
1. CPT ( Typing Test + MS Powerpoint + MS Excel)  – this exam is particularly for those candidates who wish to join CSS OR MEA Post through CGL Exam.

2. DEST  (Typing test only)- this exam is particularly for those candidates who wish to join Tax Assistant (Income Tax or Excise Dept.).

This tier is completely optional and its up to the candidate wish whether he/she wants to appear in this or not.
This is  just of qualifying nature.

And, finally,  there will be a document verification round for all the qualified candidates, after which final allotment is done.

As of now, let’s wait till 16th of May, CGL 2020 notification new Exam Pattern will come, then only anything could be said more clearly.
